Actress Tamra Meskimen on Acting, Communication, and a Radical Method of Teaching

Tamra Meskimen, Co-Founder of the Acting Center, loves to make people laugh. She made me giggle helplessly several times during our in-depth interview.

Tamra has had a life-long love affair with acting and performing. She began her journey in the improv scene in New York. After her move to Los Angeles, she and several fellow artists realized that many actors had lost their confidence in their own abilities. So, they developed a teaching technique that focuses on building confidence internally rather than relying on anyone’s critique of how to build a character or communicate.

They created a safe learning environment and established The Acting Center. Now, in its home in Sherman Oaks, The Acting Center provides a space for actors to discover their individual artistic voices.

Tamra has an inspiring view of acting, communication, improvisation, and our crucial connection to one another. She is a delightful, lovely person, and she has the gift of making you laugh while you learn. She is also the wife of Jim Meskimen, who joined me on the podcast recently as well.

Connect with Tamra and learn more about this lovely, warm, and funny woman on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
