    Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh is one of my favorite paintings. When a friend suggested I paint my own version, I couldn’t resist. Some things are quite different (the plant/shrub on the left has a lot more color in my version. And the buildings look a little cleaner, like someone in the village has been maintaining them a bit better. But the biggest difference is how we treated the stars. I can’t hope to match Van Gogh’s brilliance, but I was honored and humbled to try.

     

    The print you get will not have the signature watermark on it (just the Z signature in the bottom right-hand corner).

    This digital painting expresses my desire to be in space. I’ve always wanted to fly out above the Earth’s atmosphere. This might be the closest I’ll ever get. But you never know. People have told me that the Milky Way looks a bit like an owl taking flight. Do you see it, too?
