Bringing Back a Bad Habit To Be Good

Make it a Habit to Be Bad Sometimes

Transforming a “lack” mindset into an abundant one.

Today, I struck out for an expansive life instead of a restrictive one. I opted for a life of abundance instead of a life of lack. After seven years, I have lifted my no-sugar restriction. My life will never be the same again. This is such a big step that I recorded an entire Self-made Creative podcast episode around it.

I don’t talk much about that podcast on this website. Usually, I focus on the Tell Your Story Better podcast. Generally, I leave that podcast as a daily raw, real and unedited audio journal about my thoughts on creativity, business, thoughts, and my evolution as a citizen of this beautiful planet. However, today, I needed to stop and pay attention to the change I made. During my morning meditation, the message came through. “You’ve been restricting your life and your movement too much. You need to stop that in order to advance to the next phase of your life. So, go do that.” Startled, I jerked out of my meditation and looked around for the source of the message.

“Seriously?” I asked the empty room. “It’s OK?”

Seven years ago, I gave up sugar as a spiritual sacrifice. Some people tithe as part of their spiritual process. I sacrifice bad habits. I craved sugar with an almost addictive zeal. And I had to stop. So, I quit. Cold.

In an effort to expand my thinking and open the door to new abundance, I ended the sacrifice. Join me on the podcast to learn about this vital change as I explore expansive versus restricted thinking and how we can all beat the either/or mindset.

How about you? What do you do when you need to change a habit? Can you do moderation or do you have to quit cold, like I do? Leave a comment and let me know which works best for you.
