Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh is one of my favorite paintings. When a friend suggested I paint my own version, I couldn’t resist. Some things are quite different (the plant/shrub on the left has a lot more color in my version. And the buildings look a little cleaner, like someone in the village has been maintaining them a bit better. But the biggest difference is how we treated the stars. I can’t hope to match Van Gogh’s brilliance, but I was honored and humbled to try.
The print you get will not have the signature watermark on it (just the Z signature in the bottom right-hand corner).
This vivid rainbow fire mandala was created from the flames. I fused flames from different fires into this gorgeous art piece. The rainbows highlight the different eight-fold path. If you look carefully, you’ll find both a firebird and a fire fairy in the art.
These cats look a lot like my kitty ZephyrKitten. They have that same speculative look in their eyes. I love this piece because I love cats, and I also can’t tell whether they are coming or going.
These butterflies are spectral, vibrant, vivid, and colorful. The concentric circles represent the unity all living creatures have with one another. It’s reminiscent of Peter Max.
An homage to Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night. What if on that night, a white kitty named Kimba wandered up to the roof of a shack to commune with the moon? Bright, abstract stars and a shining moon greet the kitty as he climbs up the roof and basks in the moonlight.
A woman of all colors dances and proclaims her sovereignty over her body. “My Body, My Choice!” with a beautiful, colorful background. Available as a t-shirt, phone cover, hoody, and others.
When my husband and I visited Iceland, we traveled to a glacier and walked on it. The ice was all startling blues and whites. As I created this mandala, I remembered the hush, the frigid air, and the sheer beauty of the land. This mandala represents all that.
It comes in a 10×10 inch size (with no frame included).
I get lost in it. It stuns me like the glacier did.
Sometimes, you just get lucky. Such was the case with this image. I was walking out of a restaurant and saw this stunning moment. It brings me peace and a sense of awe every time I look at it because we can find beauty in the most unlikely places. We just need to stay open to it.
I took this photo right before dawn during a writing retreat in West Virginia, USA. My husband, good friend, and I would rent a house in the mountains and spend a weekend creating. The mornings were stunning, and I caught one in this image. If the many colors of clouds fascinate you like they fascinate me, you’ll love this image.
