The Terminator Wants to Save Them

The True Measure of Success

I read an amazing quote today.

“We need to do everything we can to preserve these beautiful animals – they are not trophies. If you think they are, you’ve obviously never won a real trophy.” – Arnold Schwarzenegger (The Terminator) on elephants.

measure of success lionnessI didn’t see any elephants when I went on a photo safari in South Africa (though we did see these lions). But I believe we can protect any beings who need our help. And this reminds me of another favorite quote.

“You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him.” -Malcolm Forbes

When you show compassion, you’re a hero. When you treat other beings with respect and dignity, you deepen your connection to everything and everyone around you. And that is the true path to success.

It’s funny. Today’s podcast episode is about how to use whole-brain thinking to succeed. But maybe I should be focusing on how to use whole-heart thinking to succeed. What do you think? Should we rely mostly on our brains or our hearts when making our life choices?
