Don't fall for the Short Change con
We are in the midst of misdirection at its finest. We are bombarded with media overload. Sound Bites careen towards us from every direction. From “Crooked Hillary,” to “Kelly Anne Con job,” we are being led down some or other path by those who want to sway our votes and our dollars. This can happen at home, at work, and on the world’s stage. It’s all around us every minute.
To those who would deluge us, I say where is your conscience. To the rest of us, I say, choose your issues and act on those. Be vigilant about what you know and what you don’t know. Make no decisions until you understand the facts. If you jump the gun, you will lose. If you think you know what is happening, be sure you aren’t at the mercy of the Short Change con.
If you don’t know what the Short Change con is, here is a video to explain it. Misdirection at its finest.
How to check in and see if you are being misdirected. Do you feel like you understand exactly what is happening but there is still a little tickle in your belly? Do you feel just slightly anxious even though everything otherwise feels “ok?” Do you feel like those around you are speaking just a little too quickly with a little too much modulation? If so, you might be being short-changed. Don’t fall for it.
So, again, choose your stance. And if something feels wonky, have the confidence in your own intuition to step away. Clear your head. Think things through. Make no decisions until you know the facts, all of them. And then choose your issues and act on those. Make your voice heard.
My issues are education and the health of the planet (and the creatures who reside here). Those are the ones I will be fighting for the hardest. I will try to act on the others. I will do my very best. But the above two? Those are my heart and soul. And I will do everything I can to safeguard them.
That is my solemn vow.
