Queries, Pitches, and Earned Media – Give ‘Em Exactly What They Want
A few months ago, I did a podcast episode on how to use “Help a Reporter Out (HARO).” I focused the ep on earned media and how to pitch your stories so reporters can’t live without them.
This is a follow-up to that episode. I want to take it bigger, better, faster. I aim to give you even more info. This example will show you how to get yourself and your business in front of the eyes who need them.
Get Earned Media and Leads by Giving Them Exactly What They Ask For
Today, I ran across a perfect query. First, I only pitch stories that are perfect for me. Anything that is close isn’t good enough. And this one was ideal. Take a look!
This query hit everything I do. I am female, coach, and author. I’m a speaker, and I have an online business. Frankly, it couldn’t get any better. So, of course, I pitched ’em.
And this is key. I gave it to them exactly as they wanted it. If you don’t satisfy all the requirements, don’t do it. If it won’t get you in front of your intended audience, you’ll have to decide if it’s worth it. Because it takes time to write these up well. But if you do, you’ll get some good earned media. And you’ll get in front of people who might want to book you or hire you. What could be better than that?
So, if you want to try this avenue of getting in front of your audience, follow these steps. If you run into a snag, get in touch and I’ll try to help.
What are you doing to get in front of your audience? Do you send emails? Have a podcast? Video? Instagram? YouTube? How is working? Any trouble or are you kicking butt and taking names? Comment below and let me know.
