Living thoughts
Every single day, do at least one thing that scares you. If you want to write, then write. Get a piece of paper and put down … something. It can be “holy sh*t, I have no idea what to say. This sucks.” That’s ok. They’re words on a page, and they are a beginning.
If you want to start running, then go for a walk. It is a start.
If you want to learn a musical instrument, go to your closest musical instrument store and pluck the strings on the guitars (or the harps, or the violins).
If you want to ask someone out, ask. The worst they can say is “no,” but at least you will have asked. And by the way, once you’ve asked, things will move, one way or another. You will either get your date, or you will lick your wounds for a bit, and then you will move on.
So, if you want to start doing something and you are scared, the very best thing you can do, is begin.
