Mark West, Executive Director of the Mark West Center for the Arts
Mark West is an artist and the Executive Director of the Mark West Center for the Arts (MWCA). MWCA, also known as House of Mark West, is a non-profit community organization, gallery and creative hub for artists in the South Bronx. They are black-owned and cater primarily to Black, Brown, LGBTQ, disabled, and young (k-12) artists and creatives. They are a gallery and artist collective that hosts monthly art exhibitions, free grant-writing workshops, open mic competitions, art classes, and town hall meetings.
As one of the only black-owned and queer-owned galleries in NYC, MWCA’s mission is to provide exposure and advocacy for underrepresented artists from all backgrounds.
