Review Yourself

Review Yourself Frequently To Remain Productive and to Improve

Sometimes, you know exactly how to review what you’ve done. You have issues with a project you’ve submitted. You want to improve things and know the steps. Or, you think you did your very best. And you’re thrilled! But let’s face it. Likely, you look at a project, shrug, and have little idea how you’ve done.

This holds true especially if you’re a creative person. Yet, reviewing yourself is crucial. When you evaluate your progress, you assess what you can improve. If you build awareness, you’ll make progress.

I believe that statement applies to just about anything.

Unless …

Unless you finish a project that’s so close to your heart, you have zero idea how to evaluate it. You hope others will receive benefits from what you’ve done. But truthfully, you don’t know. The best thing you can do is pray that what you intended is what they’ll receive.

To me, intention is everything. If you intend to do the right thing and you succeed, then hey, feel free to celebrate! If you intend to do the right thing and you screw up, then you deal with it. But at least you leave your integrity intact. Right?

I hope so. When I wrote Speak From Within, I hoped that the book would help people build confidence. I envisioned people coming into their own as they learn the skills to connect with others. But honestly, I didn’t know how people would receive the book and its lessons.

I released it and now the reviews are coming home to roost, as it were.

review leigh

I just saw this review this morning, and it made me cry. This! This was my intent. I’m so grateful to any of you who read the book and go so far as to review it. That lets those of us who write them know what we did right and what we can improve.

We can all always improve as long as we review ourselves. And sometimes, we improve most when someone else reviews us. and yes, you need a thick skin to face reviews. Believe me, though. It’s worth it.

What are you working on? How can you review what you’ve done so far? Comment below and let me know.
