Air Imbalance Description
Please note: an imbalance can be either an element’s characteristics taken to the extreme or a need to have balance because the element is not having enough of an impact.
If you have an Air imbalance, a number of things might be happening. If you have found that you have the Air element designation and you are also an Air imbalance, this likely means that you are too strongly present in the Air element. In other words, the very analytical nature and love of thought and reason that describe an Air designation can become over analysis of every day things and conversations. An Air imbalance person may find him or herself over thinking things to the point that she or he becomes paralyzed and unable to either take a stand or do anything about what is occurring.
Instead of being blunt and straightforward an Air imbalance may dip into being rude and sometimes tactless. They may not show awareness or care for the feelings of others. Although an Air imbalance will often be very intelligent, this person may not exhibit “street-smarts” or common sense. An Air imbalance person tends to be very opinionated to the point of being overbearing with those opinions. They have an overarching need to be right and can have a lot of trouble if others disagree with them.
Air imbalance people may be quite critical and sarcastic. They may have thought through their position on things to the point of being dogmatic and intolerant of other viewpoints. They believe that they are correct and they leave little room for dissenting opinions.
There are a few things that can be done to mitigate an Air imbalance. First, it is necessary to look at and perhaps incorporate the positive aspects of Air characteristics. Air element people are intelligent and thoughtful rather overly analytical and domineering. An Air element person is intelligent but the thoughtfulness that allows him/her to move forward from a well-reasoned place does not run into criticism and sarcasm. (Here, please take a look at the Air characteristics to see how a balanced Air element person is described. Second, it is necessary to look at Air’s polar opposite, Water. Finding Water’s sensitivity and compassion can be incredibly helpful in mitigating an Air imbalance. Please refer to the following Air tasks to help with restoring your Air balance.
