Asking for help
All that is about to change. I’m about to enter a new phase where I have to bite the bullet and reach out and ask my friends, family, and acquaintances for their help, their thoughts, and their guidance. And you know what? There’s nothing wrong with it. I get it. Most of us are taught that we are supposed to be self-sufficient and that we are not supposed to ask for help but rather that we should be stoic, suck it up, and take it on all ourselves.
The older I get the more I realize that’s just not true. We really can’t be good at everything. We really can’t do it all. And there’s nothing wrong with reaching out to those who can help, to those who can do it, and ask them for their aid. And you know what else? Most people are not only willing but eager to help. That’s what being a global village is all about. We help each other and we get to be grateful both when receive help and when we give it.
