How do you want to be remembered?

remembered impressionsHow do you want the colleagues and staff you interact with to remember you afterward?

Do you want them to know you as a strong person? A kind person? A go-getter? As someone who’s amenable? Do you want them to think of you as someone who’s a good listener, sweet, successful, assertive, decisive, engaging? The impression they have right then will be the impression they carry with them.

Decide before your next interaction how you want the other person to leave the interaction. Make it a concrete statement, like, “I want X to leave our meeting feeling heard, valued, and like we really accomplished something.”

Then, focus on that goal and let it inform how you behave and what you say.

You’ll be amazed at the results.

How would you like them to remember you?
