Do This To Immediately Improve Your Personal and Business Relationships
In all our relationships, we need to know how others are feeling. This image shows how you can tell what a cat is feeling. Don’t you wish we had the same kind of poster to guide us on how people are feeling?
????
I’m usually of the, “if you aren’t sure what someone’s thinking, ask,” school. But sometimes, you’re in professional settings or relationships or interacting with a person who is new in your life. Then, asking feels awkward.
?
So, what are you to do?
?
I say listen to them. Ask questions and listen to how they respond. It’s the human version of a cat’s tail. So, ask questions. When they answer, does their voice sound tight? Loose? Shaky? A tight voice sounds pinched and doesn’t go up and down a lot.
?
That might be some anxiety, impatience, or even low-grade anger.
?
A shaky or breathy voice might mean someone is nervous especially if it accompanies swift, jerky hand motions.
??
A loose voice that sounds expansive might show you the person feels happy, optimistic, and/or excited.
?
You can get a ton of information just by using your senses. Use that info to connect with the person and address what they’re feeling to have a better, more productive, more meaningful interaction. I go into this topic more deeply in my book, Speak From Within.
?
Listen to how they say what they say to solve that mystery once and for all. How do you tell what people are thinking? How do you navigate those relationships? Comment below.
