What It Takes To Make Your Life Work
Isn’t it funny, how as you get older you learn so much more about what it takes to make your life run. You figure out the morning routine that will keep you healthiest. You learn what foods work best with your insides. Then, you also determine what your goals are. And you figure out how to pursue them in the best way for you.
In order for me to make my life run, I need to have a to-do list. I need it to flow from one thing to the next It doesn’t matter if it flows logically or organically. What’s necessary is for me to see the big picture of what I’m trying to achieve. Then, I envision and write down each step in a daily project and to-do list.
For me, this is how I set my daily to-do list. Cat, portable chair back massager, and Show-up Journal. NinjaKitty must have his lap time. (Research indicates that time spent with your pets eases tension, releases stress, and increases happiness.) And I have to massage my back to keep walking without a cane. After that, I do a 35-minute workout (20 minutes of cardio and at least 15 minutes of yoga every day), and I”m good to go.
Morning Routine
So, together, following these steps, we make my life work. Can I make it flow without one or more of these steps? Sure. Sometimes, I have to. As my aikido teacher puts it, sometimes life gets in the way of art. But I try to return to this task flow every morning so I can make things consistent. In an otherwise wacky schedule that can change on a dime, this set-up makes the rest of the day soar.
I’m so grateful for the realizations that keep me growing and the step list that keeps me going.
