When you look back, what will you see?
Today’s power words from my Show Up! Journal free-write. Like many of us, I often set myself insurmountable goals. Or, allow me to clarify, they seem insurmountable. But, I keep at it. That’s all there is. I think that’s all any of us can do. We keep going. We keep showing up. We keep working on it.
And one day, we look back and realize that what had seemed impossible was actually not so bad. And what’s more, we realize that achievement is just one of many. And when we look back and we see each one of them, each hill we climbed, each mountain we’ve conquered, we realize that we are so much more than we thought we ever could be.
And what’s really cool? When we face forward, new mountains, new challenges rise up before us. Only now, we look at them like friends, like comrades on the journey. Because, I think that’s what they are. Every challenge is a wise teacher. Our job is to learn the lesson from this mountain and then apply it to the next one and the next one and the one after that.
