The Elevator pitch – it’s not about you. It’s about them.
I have been focusing a lot on how to be of service. And there’s a difference between having the desire to be of service, actually being of service, and letting people know how you can help them.
Elevator pitches are so short that seldom do we have the opportunity to express all three. The best we can do, in my opinion, is to focus on the benefit we will bring to our client or customer. So, if you want your elevator pitch to sparkle, focus it on them. Don’t circle around. Make it to the point. “Here is what my service will do for you.” Know what it is. And then tell them.
