Water Imbalance Description
Water Imbalance Description
Please note: an imbalance can be either an element’s characteristics taken to the extreme or a need to have balance because the element is not having enough of an impact.
If you have a Water imbalance, a number of things might be happening. If you have found that you have the Water element designation and you are also a Water imbalance, this likely means that you are too strongly present in the Water element. In other words, the very intuitive, compassionate, emotional nature that describes a Water designation can become the hypersensitive, potentially melodramatic nature of a Water imbalance.
Instead of having full access to and expression of their emotions, Water imbalance people can be overemotional, temperamental, and brooding. Their flights of fancy can develop into inordinate amounts of time spent in idle daydreaming. They can ride a perpetual emotional roller coaster with wide and quick mood swings. They can take offense very easily and a perceived slight will affect them to large degrees. They fall in love quickly and can show a lack of sense in their choices of partners. And if and when their love is not returned, they can have a very difficult time handling the situation. Because of their enhanced love of beauty, Water imbalance people will sometimes have trouble facing unpleasant situations.
They tend toward depression and overly critical self-assessment/examination. They can have an overactive imagination particularly as it pertains to their approach to their own lives and their relationships. They can approach issues and situations from an unrealistic perspective.
There are a few things that can be done to mitigate a Water imbalance. First, it is necessary to look at and perhaps incorporate the positive aspects of Water characteristics and focus on getting to the root stimuli for acting from the compassionate/emotional Water perspective. Water element people are emotional, kind, generous, and intuitive. However, these can be impacted by Water’s compassionate nature. This compassion allows Water people to sense and accept both their own feelings and the feelings of others. It allows them to view situations from a more peaceful place rather than simply reacting from the increased emotional dynamic of a Water imbalance. (Here, please take a look at the Water characteristics to see how a balanced Water element person is described. Second, it is necessary to look at Water’s polar opposite, Air. Finding Air’s thoughtful, careful, analytical approach can be incredibly helpful in mitigating a Water imbalance. Please refer to the following Water tasks to help with restoring your Water balance.
