Changing the world takes energy
Today’s power words from my Show Up! Journal free-write. I struggle with hypothyroidism. I have to take excellent care of myself, watch what I eat, exercise lightly, and do yoga or tai chi every, single day, or I will rapidly get to the point where I can’t even get out of bed.
Since I have big plans to help people and to work to change the world, I need every ounce of energy I can squeeze out of myself and that means being vital and in good health. I think that goes for all of us. If we want to succeed, we have to first look to ourselves. We must do the self-care, maintenance, and preventative care to keep ourselves balanced, strong, and flexible. Taking the time to care for ourselves can be a struggle but we must make ourselves a priority. We deserve it. It’s like the flight attendant say, “if the oxygen masks come down, put your own on first before reaching around to help others.”
