Creatives Crucial to Post-COVID Business World
Bloomberg Businessweek has a terrific article on what schools most value innovation and creativity (see the image below for the top ten schools). Why did they research that? It’s because creativity, innovation, and the ability to run a small business are going to be the most valuable skills in a post-COVID business world.
Here’s a quote. “If you value innovation and creativity, which are especially important in today’s economy, Stanford, in Palo Alto, Calif., Cornell’s Johnson school, in Ithaca, N.Y., and Berkeley come out on top, according to our student surveys.”
Creatives and Creative Thinkers will be crucial to our recovery and progress. The question becomes how do we nurture creative thinkers and help them succeed? And the second question is how do we help business leaders learn to communicate and optimize the work they do with creatives?
I have a feeling we’ll be wrestling with these questions for some time. And I’m glad I’ve done so much work both as a creative and a business owner on figuring out how to work with both. If you’re a creative, you’ll be needed. If you’re a business leader, you’ll need to know how to work with and get the best out of the creatives you hire.
